For the third time this year, the

honored four high school hockey players
from the Pennsylvania Interscholastic
Hockey League with Player of the Month
awards at Wednesday night’s game against
the New York Islanders. |

Tyler Fitzgerald of West Allegheny High
School,
Sam Jarrett of Seneca Valley High School
and Brett Oldaker of Canon McMillan High
School accepted the awards for their
exceptional leadership and scoring
abilities throughout the season |

“I was thrilled when I got the call,”
Fitzgerald said. “I was very excited.
It’s a nice honor. It doesn’t happen to
many kids, and I’m excited to be part of
it.” |

Fitzgerald, a senior forward, scored nine goals and
earned 11 points in four games in January, including

The West
Allegheny Hockey Association would like
to congratulate Jason Kumpfmiller (So.),
Jonathan Grebosky (So.), Jonathan Levitt
(So.) and Taylor Carlisle (Sr.) for
their selection and participation on
Team Northeast in the PIHL Class AA
All-Star game on Sunday, January 24.
Patrick Coburn (So.) was selected as the
first alternate. Jason Kumpfmiller
stopped 10 shots, including a penalty
shot, and allowed no goals in 15 minutes
of play. Jonathan Levitt scored a
short-handed goal late in the first
period, which was assisted by Jonathan
Grebosky. Taylor Carlisle registered a
plus/minus rating of +3 in a 7-2 win for
Team Northeast. Their selection is
testimony to their consistent and solid
effort this season. |
| |
|
West
Allegheny High School is proud to
nominate sophomore goaltender Jason
Kumpfmiller for the "HIGHMARK Player of
the Month" for the month of November.
Jason has been a key contributor for the
Indians through our first seven games of
the season, helping to guide us to a
4-2-1 record. |
| |
|
Jason leads
the PIHL Varsity AA division in several
categories, including wins (4, a tie),
shutouts (2), and starts (6, a tie). He
boasts a 92.0% save percentage, stopping
162 of 176 shots that have come his way
this season. In only his first varsity
campaign, Jason has established himself
as premier goaltender in the PIHL. |
| |
|
Like all
players on the West Allegheny varsity
team, Jason has worked hard at his
studies and has helped contribute to a
growing reputation of academic
excellence within the hockey community.
West Allegheny High School and the West
Allegheny Hockey Association would like
to congratulate Jason on this
nomination, and we look forward to
continued success this season. |
