“Father, Husband, Friend, Hockey Lover – Duane Foy #resteasyDuane”

Duane Foy, 52, of North Fayette, died unexpectedly on Monday, December 22, 2014.  He was born on April 2, 1962 in Cleveland, Ohio the son of the late Kenneth W. and Mildred (Markovich) Foy.  He is survived by his Beloved wife of 21 years, Paula.  He was the proud father of two children, Bailey and Sydney. Brother of Patrick K. Foy.  His extended family and friends will miss him as well as his beloved cats, Geno, Crosby and Maxine.

Duane was a lifelong Cleveland sports fan and an unofficial ambassador for the city.  While cheering on the Cavs, Browns, and Indians, Duane also strongly supported the Pittsburgh Penguins from section 218 of the Consol Energy Center.

There was nothing Duane loved more than spending time with his family and friends, especially when it came to youth hockey.  Duane was a hockey coach, manager, and association president over the course of his life.  But those are just titles.  In reality, Duane was a mentor, leader, and an inspiration to all whom he came into contact with.  There was no one more willing to give his time and energy to ensuring the success of anything he touched.  One cannot go into a hockey rink in Western Pennsylvania and not know someone he befriended or inspired.  He will be extremely missed by all including his extended hockey family and his West Allegheny Indians hockey team.  One more lap on the Zamboni, Duane.

Friends will be received on Saturday, December 27th from 2 to 8 PM in the Huntsman Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Moon Township, located on 1522 Coraopolis Heights Road.

Friends are also invited to celebrate Duane's life on Sunday, December 28th from 2 to 6 PM at St. Columbkille Church of Imperial, located at 103 Church Road.  All other services are private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the “Duane Foy Memorial Scholarship”. This scholarship is being set up to honor the legacy of Duane and his involvement in youth hockey.  Donations should be sent to WAHA, P.O. Box 507, Imperial, PA 15126.

  JV's Comeback Falls Short

The JV team opened their regular season on Tuesday, October 9th, with a 2 to 1 defeat at Moon.  After a sluggish start that saw the Indians fall behind 2 to 0 early, Austin Young scored for West A with a little over 90 seconds left in the game.  Even though the Indians pulled their goalie and went on the power play, they couldn't score the equalizer.  Goalie, Emma Zeveney kept the score close, stopping 32 of 34 shots.
